Once again, it is that time of year. How does it happen so quickly? I’m sure you’re asking yourselves the same thing.
Usually for the holidays I like to write an inspiring, rousing post about how great things will be in the new year. And they will, no question. Next year is going to be awesome.
But this year I find myself uncharacteristically quiet. This year is a season of noticing the little things. Humming as we roll out cookie dough. Clapping with joy as each new package appears under the tree. And sitting on the couch together with the windows open, naming all the smells in the cold air, all the sounds we hear, and exchanging kids every few minutes for equal opportunity snuggling.
It’s that kind of year.
I hope that all of you are noticing all the little things in your homes this season. That’s what it’s about, after all.
Next year will be great. I know it.
But for now, it is enough to watch the swirling dance of the season.
I am infinitely thankful for my life, and for all of you.
My Very Best,
