Baby Girl's Room

So this is Baby Girl's room. Sharp-eyed readers will notice the missing baseboards and careening dresses. Clearly this is a work in progress. But I wanted to share, anyway!
I have to say, I never intended this room to be blue. It was supposed to be cream. The other room is cream. But we shuffled at the last minute to give my son the bigger space and we just didn't have time to paint again.
So I've been living with blue... and it's kind of working for me. I like the contrast with the peach and pink. The shots of red are working for me, too. Which is weird. So now I can't figure out what color to paint it. And now would be a good time, because Dutch Boy has asked me to try out their no-VOC paint, and this would be a perfect project.
The original plan was cream. I could do that. But then I started thinking darker just to make all the white furniture and light fabrics stand out. Like maybe a dark, warmish pink? But then it would be a sea of peach. Hmmmm. What about periwinkle? I love periwinkle. Or lilac?
I want something girly, since she's too little to protest yet, but I'm kind of stuck on keeping the nice contrast, too.
Help me, please!
I'll just wait here on the daybed, pretending to be a fairy princess. Tee hee.

The blue works. I especially like pink and red florals against it. I had the same problem, a bedroom I though was going to be any other color but blue. But it works.

since you are going to paint, how about Dutch Boy's Convivial Red, A8-1. it's a dusty red which would bring out all the other colors well. (think "French General" palate, and you'll see what i mean)

I like the blue, but think a dusty/sagey green might work with the pink/red accents.
Glad to "see" you after such a long time. Hope all of you are doing well.

It's so good to hear from you again and to see your little girl's room. I'd go for something girly before she's old enough to protest!

I'm so happy that you've posted again! I was wondering if you were just done blogging. Anyway, I agree that sage green would be really cute, but I love pink and think that would be nice too. I am painting my daughter's room pink right now, really light, pale pink. I'm deciding between gentle butterfly, and pink cloud from Benjamin Moore. They're both really pretty. Good luck,I'll be glad to see what you end up doing. It looks really cute so far.

Thanks everyone! It's, of course, been a pretty crazy few months, but things are starting to get a little bit back to normal, so I should be blogging more. And I'll put some more pictures up of her room, too!

Whatever you do it's going to be lovely. I vote for either the periwinkle...so clean and fresh, or a creamy peach/pink, something like the inside of a conch shell. Either would make that furniture pop.

Hmmmm.....that dusty red sounds nice. My daughter's room has a similar color scheme and she wanted it all pink. I couldn't live with ALL pink so we did pink about 5 feet up the wall and painted a scallop pattern. Then we topped it with a minty green. Can't go wrong with pink and green.
How about a dusty green? But I do like the blue too.
Good luck!

I think either soft pink either half way or a darker cream all the way
