Cottage Charm Giveaway Day 2008

Yellow Floral Quilt

For those of you who have been with me awhile, you may remember that last year I gave away an antique quilt as part of the Cottage Charm Giveaway Day.

Well, Kim from One Woman’s Cottage Life is at it again with The 2nd Annual Cottage Charm Giveaway. Cottage-style bloggers across the ‘Net are all joining in and giving away tons of pretty prizes.

As for me, I’m giving away another quilt! It’s a King-sized, modern commercially-made quilt in yellow with pink florals (see above). It reverses to a fun stripe and has a cute scalloped edge. I love this quilt, but we only use a duvet on our bed, so it’s time for it to find a new home.

For your chance to win, simply leave a comment on this or any other post between today and the 31st. Each post you comment on will get you another entry in the giveaway. So if you comment on five different posts between now and May 31st, you get five entries. Get it? On the 31st, I’ll randomly draw a winner and announce it here on the blog.

So, get commenting! And once you’re done here, you’ll want to go visit The 2nd Annual Cottage Charm Giveaway so you can enter everyone else’s giveaway, too!

Good luck!

~Angela :-)

The contest is now closed. The drawing occurred on May 31, 2008. Congratulations to Sandra for winning the quilt!

Christmas Pillow Giveaway, Day 5

Christmas Pillow Giveaway, Day 5
What a whirlwind of fun this has been! We’ve got one pillow left, and because it’s almost Christmas, this one is going to go fast! You only have until first thing Christmas morning (Pacific Time, USA), to comment for your chance to win.
But, the bonus news is that the Day 4 red floral pillow is also still open, so if you haven’t already commented there, you can still do that. Both pillows will be given away in the morning!
Red and cream toile pillow
The fifth and final pillow in the Great Christmas Pillow Giveaway, 2007, is the red and cream toile with red fringe. The fabric is an all cotton, removable, washable cover, and the insert is feather (again, unless you prefer polyfill). If you have red and/or toile in your home, this will be a perfect addition.
Red Floral and Stripe Pillow
For your chance to win this pillow, comment here. I’ll randomly choose a winner in the morning. And, again, if you haven’t already commented on the Day 4 red floral pillow, do so now! Both pillows will be awarded on Christmas morning! :-)
Have fun and good luck!
~Angela :-)
P.S. I’m sorry, the giveaway is over and this pillow was given to Cheryl from Polka Dots & Rick Rack! You can see the giveaway introduction and and winners at Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5 and the final day. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Pillow Giveaway, Day 4

Christmas Pillow Giveaway, Day 4
Wheeee! This is fun. We’re on Day 4 of the Great Christmas Pillow Giveaway, 2007! So far, we’ve had three lucky winners. Kaylyn of Dunlap Love won the floral pillow that kicked off the giveaway. Kimberly from Michigan won the reversible red floral and stripe oblong, and Andrea from Big Creek Cottage won the French-inspired ticking stripe!
Camel and red pillow
So who won the subtle but supportive tan pillow with red fringe?
….drumroll…
Cory from My World, by CJ! Congratulations, Cory!
Red Floral and Stripe Pillow
Okay, folks, we’ve only got two pillows left, folks. So today we’re giving away the second red floral reversible oblong that also comes with an additional white cover. As you may remember, this pillow has a cotton red floral fabric on the front with a button envelope enclosure. The cover also removes and is completely washable.
Red Floral Stripe Pillow
The back is a red and tan stripe.
White Floral Pillow Cover
This pillow also comes with a lighter, brighter white background floral cover that originally came with the pillow, you can see that pillow cover in the picture at right.

To win this pillow, comment on this post until tomorrow evening, when I will close comments and draw a winner. Then the final pillow (the red and cream toile) will be posted right after that! Again, thank you all for participating, and even if you don’t want to win a pillow, thank you for commenting! :-)
Update: The close for this pillow has been extended! You now have until first thing Christmas morning (Pacific Time, USA), and both of the last two pillows (the red floral and the red and cream toile pillow) are now up for grabs. So make sure to comment both here and on the Day 5 red and cream toile post! Good luck!
~Angela :-)
P.S. I’m sorry, the giveaway is over and this pillow was given to Rose from Classic Charm! You can see the giveaway introduction and and winners at Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5 and the final day. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Pillow Giveaway, Day 3

Christmas Pillow Giveaway, Day 3
Amazing Award
Before we get to the giveaway for today, I have to share some news: I have been given the “Amazing Blogger” award by a new, but dear friend, Rhondi from Rose Colored Glasses. Rhondi has an absolutely lovely home and is a stunningly talented quilter, so you should stop by and see her. Thank you, Rhondi, you completely made my day. I’m speechless! :-)
There are so many bloggers I’d like to pass this award onto, like everyone in my blogroll! But to keep it simple, I am going to limit myself to four of the blogs that amaze me every day with their gorgeous homes, impeccable style, generosity of spirit to the blog world and delightful ability to post nearly every day:
Cindy from My Romantic Home
Kim from Dear Daisy Cottage
Tracey from A Cottage Industry
Tina from Cherry Hill Cottage
Also, I am supposed to share seven things about myself–I’ve done that at the end of the post.
Okay, back to the giveaway. We’re now kicking off Day 3, of the Great Christmas Pillow Giveaway, 2007! :-) I can’t tell you how much joy it is giving me to share these pillows and hear everyone’s holiday thoughts! I love it!
French-inspired Stripe Pillow
For Day 2, the French-inspired stripe pillow (pictured at right) with extra linen cover goes to…..drumroll…..
Andrea from Big Creek Cottage! Yay!
And now, to the next pillow to give away.
Camel and Red Pillow
The pillow I’m giving away today is a simple pillow of camel cotton duck with a multi-tonal red fringe. It’s not a flashy pillow, but it’s a great supporting player. The cover is removable, as with all of the pillows, is washable, also as with all the pillows, and comes with a feather insert (if you are allergic or prefer not to have feather, I will send a poly insert instead).
This pillow would be great for someone with a couch that has more pattern, as a supporting member of a cast of pillows, or for someone who wants to embellish the front with a design of their own.
To win this pillow, comment on this post until tomorrow evening, when I will close comments and draw a winner. Then the next pillow will be posted right after that! Good luck everyone, and thank you, thank you so much, again, for participating! It’s making my holidays even more fun than usual! :-)
~Angela :-)
P.S. Here’s those seven things about myself to share with my Amazing Blogger award.
1. I’ve tried many times to choose to focus my attention on either my home or my garden. I can’t do it! I love them both! :-)
2. I pretty much can’t pass up any opportunity to buy: fabric, linens, dishes, crystal, flowers / flowering plants, or anything with chippy paint.
3. I almost always have more ideas than time. ALWAYS. My husband keeps telling me I am going to have to accept the fact that I have more ideas for projects than I could ever finish in an entire lifetime. I am not sure I am ready to admit that, yet. (Yet!)
4. I am never without opinions. EVER. If you ever want someone to give you an opinion (an honest one) about your home or garden, ask me. I will tell you.
5. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I am in constant awe at the supreme level of amazing talent there is in this bloggy world!
6. I have a hard time noticing the beauty that’s already there. I’ll be discussing this further when I do my New Years Resolutions post! :-)
7. I really want to change careers and become a combination interior decorator and garden designer. And maybe write some books along the way. Is that too big of a dream?
P.P.S. I’m sorry, the giveaway is over and this pillow was given to Cory from My World, by CJ! You can see the giveaway introduction and and winners at Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5 and the final day. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Pillow Giveaway, Day 2

Christmas Pillow Giveaway, Day 2
Welcome to Day 2, of the Great Christmas Pillow Giveaway, 2007! :-) I’m having such fun with this giveaway, I just can’t stand it!
Red Floral and Stripe Pillow
So, for the first day, the first oblong pillow (pictured at right) with extra cover goes to…..drumroll…..
Kimberly from Michigan! Yay!
And now, to the next pillow to give away.
Striped Button PIllow
Today’s pillow, ladies, is a little French-inspired number, with a tan and red homespun ticking strip cover with a front button closure featuring faux ivory buttons. This pillow also comes with a white linen cover (not pictured) from IKEA with the random monogram “XF” which I say stands for “extra fabulous.”
To win this pillow, comment on this post until tomorrow evening, when I will close comments and draw a winner. Then the next pillow will be posted right after that! :-) Tee hee!
~Angela :-)
P.S. I’m sorry, the giveaway is over and this pillow was given to Andrea from Big Creek Cottage! You can see the giveaway introduction and and winners at Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5 and the final day. Merry Christmas!

Great Christmas Pillow Giveaway 2007

Great Christmas Pillow Giveaway 2007
What a wonderful year! I don’t know how many of you know this, but I started this blogging adventure about this time last year. I’ve had an incredible year, meeting all of you, learning so much, and just generally being blessed with all the amazing thoughts, spirit, friendship, and let’s face it, eye candy, that you all contribute every day. It totally blows me away how generous you all are in sharing your thoughts and expertise and inviting us into your homes day after day. For this, I am eternally grateful.

Floral cotton pillow
As a thank you, I am giving away all of the pillows that have been featured on my family room couch for the last few posts. Each pillow is a one-of-a-kind pillow cover that I made from fabric and trimmings I had in my stash, and stuffed with a feather insert from IKEA. Some of them come with an additional cover that came with the pillow for seasonal changes. If you are allergic or prefer not to have feather, I will include a polyfiber insert instead).

Floral cotton pillow
First off, I am giving the first pillow, the pretty floral with the pom-pom trim is being given to Kaylyn of Dunlap Love for being the first person on the holiday home tour yesterday to comment on the pillows and inspiring this event. Kaylyn’s pillow is a cotton floral made from a secondhand Waverly curtain panel with cotton pom-pom trim, and has a simple envelope enclosure on the back so the cover can be removed and washed. Which I am going to do right now before I send it to you, Kaylyn!

Red Floral and Strip Pillow
Now, onto the next pillow! The pillow I’m giving away today is the first of two oblongs. This pillow has a cotton red floral fabric on the front with a button envelope enclosure. This cover also removes and is completely washable.
Red Floral Stripe Pillow
The back is a red and tan stripe.
White Floral Pillow Cover
This pillow also comes with a lighter, brighter white background floral cover that originally came with the pillow, you can see that pillow cover in the picture at right.

I’m so excited to be giving something back to all of you who have given me so much! So–comment away! Comments on today’s post will be given a chance to win today’s pillow. Tomorrow I’ll choose someone randomly to win, and then post the next pillow to be given away.
Merry Christmas everyone!
~Angela :-)

Independence Day Giveaway

Independence Day Giveaway
As you have read, I’m in the middle of moving to our new house, and while I’m a little frantic at the idea of having two houses, both projects, right now, I’m also in the mood to celebrate! We got the keys Friday, the POD moves today, (I have nowhere to store anything….), so I’m in a give it away kind of mood.
SO, in honor of the U.S. Independence Day which we will be celebrating on July 4th, I am giving away this great patriotic cross-stitch I found at a thrift store the other day. I don’t have anywhere to hang it, but I just couldn’t leave it to languish with the water-damaged 80′s-era prints!
It’s about 12 in. by 14 in., and in a glass frame. I am pretty sure it’s vintage, based on this label on the back:
Vintage Frame Label
So comment away, and on July 4th I’ll draw a winner from the comments on this post.
Happy Fourth!
~Angela :-)
