Color Challenge: Pink
Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and I have pink on my mind. Pink hearts, pink flowers, pink frosting. So you know what this love of pink calls for? A Valentine's Day giveaway! And I had such fun participating in the giveaway last month hosted by Maureen at Penchants, Ponderings & Posies that I thought it would be fun to do a similar one.
So, here you go! Between now and February 13th, put up a post of pink things from your home and comment here with a link. On Valentine's Day, I'll post a round-up, with links, to everyone who participated. Plus, I'll randomly choose a winner for a scrumptious prize, revealed at the bottom of this post.
Of course my favorite kind of pink is the pink in flowers. If I had to pick just one, I'd pick cabbage roses, but peonies are a very close second. I also love bleeding hearts (pictured above).
And if pink flowers are good, pink floral dishes are good too, right? Of course they are. I haven't yet figured out what to do with them all, but when I see pink floral dishes, I have to buy them. Aren't they pretty?
I even found a thrift-store chandelier that features pink flowers. This is going in my studio.
I think it will look cute with these pink floral curtains I have in there. I have these along one entire wall of closets in place of closet doors. Prettier and more space saving. I found two shower curtains at TJ Maxx and then found two more matching on eBay.
There's all kinds of stuff in that wall of closets like these strips of pretty fabrics for a quilt I'm (slooooowly) working on.
I also have other pink knick-knacks in my studio, like this reproduction pink toy car. I've shown this before, in my post about the shelves over my desk.
I don't just love pink flowers on fabric, I love it on embroidery, too, like this vintage piece I found (yes, at a thrift store).
But I love anything vintage, pink or floral, like this vintage quilt square that I bought on eBay (I have a collection of these). Wouldn't it make a great pillow cover?
Which brings me to the prize! One lucky winner will win a custom pillow cover made by me! You get to choose the size, style and fabric from my collection, and this vintage quilt square is included as an option!
To participate, just put up a post featuring pink from your home or garden, and leave a comment here with a link to your pink post. On Valentine's Day, I'll post a round-up with links and choose one lucky winner for the custom pillow cover.
Do you have a secret (or not so secret) passion for pink? I can't wait to see! :-)

Congratulations, Rhoda from Southern Hospitality! You won!

Ooh! I soooo hope I win! How generous of you to offer! That vintage quilt square is so cute! I can see it in my daughter's room!

I love all of your pink! Totally fabulous! I have no pink. Well, that is to say, other than my daughter's room where it looks like pink threw up on it :) Maybe I'll just post a picture of her room! Now if this was a RED giveaway - then I'd have about 6,428 photos to share of my various reds.

Going pink is a newer transitional thing for me. We moved five years ago and my previous home had minimal pink. This house is a completely different style so it was out with the country primitives look that I had in some places (not lots) and in with the softer look. I got new dinnerware and let the color/decor evolution happen slowly, naturally. Five years later I have found how much I love pink and am introducing it more & more. I even changed my blog colors a few days ago to pink and blues. Don't know how much pink I can come up with for a photo for your give-away challenge, hmmmmmm...will think pink on that one. Happy Saturday.

Good morning Angela. You always have lots of good ideas. I love pink! Actually I'm just about to go and work on a pink flowered quilt for cancer patients. I haven't any pink in my decor right now, but there must have so pink around here somewhere. I'll let you know when I post it. Hope you have a great weekend. Rhondi xo

What a great giveaway! How I wish and wish I had SOMETHING pink in my house to show you. But with 5 men sharing the place with me and no room of my own--that's about the one color sorely lacking around here. Even my garden is done purple, orange, and white. Shucks! Can't wait to see the pink in others homes though!

I eased out of all my pink 5 years ago and went with the "Pottery Barn" look. Now, I want to get back to those softer and prettier pink and light hues. I wish I had some pinks to post, but I will enjoy looking at everyone else's for now! Your pinks are so pretty, Angela!

Oh Angela, you are so much fun! Unfortunately I don't have any pink in the house, with the exception of the sweater I'm wearing, and the pepto in my cupboard...but I do love pink! Since I already was the LUCKY recipient of your wonderful pillows, I'll refrain from participating and give somebody else a chance to win your wonderful pillows. I can't wait to see everyone's links to pink, and of course the beautiful pillow you will custom make.
Hugs,

Yes, I love pink. I have pink accents in my butter-yellow bathroom. Also, I am using pink in my sewing studio. I have taupe walls in there! I just bought a childs pink round table and 2 chairs that was 80% off at Hobby Lobby today! It is for me, but when my granddaughters come to visit they will love to use it. I also love red!

I fell madly in love with PINK when

Great reason to love pink! The best of

So now I have to find something pink in my own home that I adore...hmmm...that shouldn't be too hard!

I would love it if you could tell me where you found that pink retro tin car. My daughter and her two BFF's had their picture taken at a county fair about 15 years ago in a car that looked like that and I would love to get her that car. Can you give me any information on it? I will love you forever (I love your blog!) Thank you.

I'm not sure if this will work .. I'm caught with my pruners down trying to add to the mix here .. hotflashes don't help either .. maybe I should take a picture of me for pink day ? LOL .. Nope .. no one needs to see a menopausal woman having a hot flash .. that just isn't right !
