Color Challenge: Green
Spring, Spring, Spring! I've been talking a lot about Spring. Not only are there signs of Spring, but tomorrow, March 20th, Spring will officially be here! Woo hoo! And what better way to kick off Spring than with a blog carnival of color. Last month we celebrated the color pink, but this month, in honor of Spring, we're celebrating green.
Just like last month, leave a note in the comments and I'll post a round-up of everyone's green posts next week!
Here's some green things from my home to kick things off:
I love vintage insulators. Right now I only have one, this pretty green beauty. I used to have more, collected when they weren't collectible, but unfortunately lost them all in a move. Someday I'll add more. I just love the pretty color, the interesting shape and the way the light shines through.
I also have a thing for baskets of all types. This one is a green metal cutwork basket that I found at a craft store a few years ago. I love the soft color and the scalloped edges.
You've seen this cute green toolbox before, in part one of my "Why I Thrift" series, but I wanted to include it again here. It's so cute!
I also have a weakness for architectural salvage, and I found these three matching green window frames for $10 each at the local ReStore--the same place I found my chandelier. I love how distressed they are and the green color.
Of course, I love plants of all kinds. This ivy topiary and green tree are both from IKEA. Unfortunately I have managed to kill them already, but I'll try again with new plants. For some reason my green thumb only works outdoors, but I keep trying!
I love fabric, too, and my stash includes more green than any other color.
And finally, my cute softie Scotty, who sits on my office inspiration shelves. He is made out of vintage chenille. I found him on eBay and had to have him. Isn't he cute?
Now it's your turn!
To participate, just put up a post featuring green from your home or garden. Make sure you include a link back to this post so I know which post of yours is the right one. Then leave a comment here with a link to your post. I'll leave the comments here open until Sunday night at midnight Pacific Time (March 23rd), and during the week next week I'll post a round-up of all the participating blogs!
And if that weren't enough, one lucky participant will win the green trug pictured above!
I can't wait to see what you all come up with! :-)

Congratulations, Jill from Forever and Ever House. You're a winner! :-)

We have a friend (Dave) who has been a vintage-insulator collector for years. We even went to a vintage-insulator show in a VFW hall out in the wilds of southern Pennsylvania with him a few years ago, trying to be supportive of his weird hobby. I think he would be heartened to know there are females who collect them, too! Lol.

I'll see what I can find to add to your green post.

Unfortunately my house is upside down, I left my camera in my desk at work, and I'm leaving on vacation Sunday morning. HA! I'll try to participate, but if not, I will certainly come back to see everyone's green!

Green is one of my favorite colors. I love all your green treasures.
I just posted a project that features green in honor of the arrival of Spring and guess what?
It snowed today. About 8-inches. So much for Spring in Chicagoland-lol.
Have a great weekend!

Lovely post. The green insulator touched my heart. My father, who passed away in August, collected them for years and has so many truly exquisite ones. He loved them all so much. I plan to feature them on my blog one of these days, maybe in the summer around his birthday. Take care and have a lovely Easter.

There was a time that I was not so keen on green but that has changed and now I like it a lot. The only colour I still don't like is orange. Yuck!
I did a post on green last year but I could always do another one. ;-)
BTW love that metal cutwork basket, very pretty!
Happy Easter Angela!

Oh, what a lovely post of greens! My grandpa collected the insulators for years (mostly from "the wild"--aka fallen poles) and I have some of his as well as a few of my own, too.
I have mine on a 3/4 wall between my shower and my vanity, so they catch the light from a nearby window. But I've seen in some repurposing book/magazine where they have taken them and dropped them upside-down into a wooden frame with circles cut out (so that the insulator fits in to the ridge around the flat edge) and then they use the little hole in the middle for votive candles. That's fun, too.

Hi Angela!
Spring???
I dont now what you are talking about.
Here in Sweden we have a time when it was just like spring, we have a lot of Crokus and Heleborusthen then it starts to snow and the temperatur go down to -8, not good for the plants.
Anyway, have a real nice Easter.
(we have it in the snow)
Best regards Ken&Carina
