Happy New Year, 2008
I have so much to say and so much to thank all of you for, I don't know where to begin.
So let me just say that for me, looking forward, 2008 is going to be an amazing, adventurous journey.
A journey of learning, since I am not naturally gifted at creating beautiful spaces like so many of you.
A journey of dreams, since I am working on becoming and interior & garden designer.
A journey of moments, since I am challenging myself to see the beauty right in front of me, every day, instead of focusing only on what is currently unavailable to me.
A journey of enthusiasm, since I am determined to turn my poor, devoid-of-cottage-charm 1950s ranch into a cottage home and garden that fills me with joy.
A journey of resourcefulness, since I don't want to spend a fortune on this process, even if I could, because I believe (and delight) in re-purposing, re-using and re-cycling old junk.
Which means, as the new banner says, I'll be creating my cottage style one thrift store at a time.
I can't wait to share my journey this year with you!
Many of you have given me spectacular, valuable and much needed advice and support while I've been blogging, particularly in the last few weeks as I have been looking at what I'm doing and why. I've appreciated that so much, truly. My very best to all of you who visit, comment and support me on this journey, both old and new bloggy friends, I am so thankful for you all! And I sincerely wish that each of you has an amazing new journey with the new year and reach everything you dream of.

That is absolutely not true that you aren't naturally gifted at creating beautiful spaces- I would say the exact opposite is true! Happy New Year to you!

I have a hard time believing that you are not naturally gifted at creating beautiful spaces. Your house always looks amazing, and your photos, including this one, are creatively staged and lighted. I like your new banner too. Best of luck to you in 2008!

I absolutely fiercely disagree with you about your natural talents. But you already knew that. Decorating and designing spaces is something you excel at.
You know I'm hoping that a whole lot of things get easier for you and your family this year and that both you and Gootz get closer to achieving your own personal goals. I'm so happy you're right around the corner.

Dear Angela, I wish you a very happy and healthy 2008 and I hope that your dream of becoming an interior and garden designer comes true. I'm one yself and I know how much fun it it. ;-) And I'm into re-cycling too although not as much as you. Judging by how everything looks in your new home (and the old one too) I'm thinking that you have a natural gift for designing and decorating. ;-)
