Valentine's Day "Be Mine" Banner (Free Letter Templates)

Valentine's Day Be Mine Banner

So I've been moving things around here at Casa de Magpie, and the free china hutch I got on craigslist.org has migrated into the living room, which continues to evolve toward a finished design. More on that soon.

But meanwhile, I was working on distressing the china hutch and suddenly had the overwhelming urge to make a Valentine's Day banner to hang across it. I just used the same letters and instructions that I created for the Halloween Boo Garland, but with pink instead of black.

I also taped the letters onto the ric-rac because I couldn't find my fancy oblong hole punch. But I actually think it looks better this way.

If you want to make one, you just need two sheets of pink card stock and two of white, the .ZIP file of letter templates and the instructions from the Halloween garland. Scalloped scissors and ric-rac are optional. Once you've got supplies, it's only about 20 minutes from start to finish.

Fun, huh?

~Angela :-)

P.S. Speaking of fun, the talented Kaylyn at Dunlap Love has used the letters to make a super-cute Easter banner. So creative!

A free china hutch? And it looks that great?

Gee, Angela. Hurry up and write the rest of your articles on finding cool stuff.

BTW, I think I just might make that little banner!

Hi,
This is my first visit your blog - and it won't be the last... You've got a very inspiring blog I must say. Thanks for sharing! /Katarina

I managed to get a pink-post up on my blog, but have no idea how to prove it to you unless you take pity on me and go look for yourself.

Love the banner, and I think I'll give it a try myself!

This looks great, and I love the hutch!I love it!

You distressing is coming out so great! This was a great Craig's list find..the banner came out very cute!

What a pretty idea---hope I can remember it for next valentine in my new house. I'm going to put my hutch in my fancy schmancy laundry room/sewing room. It sounds like a crazy idea--but wait till you see what I'm doing in there. I want to play house again. I'm tired of cleaning and keeping this place ready to sell. So I come here and watch you do your magic!!! You are brightening my days while I'm in that between house scenario!! Thank you

Hi Anglea, love the banner letters, thank you for the links to them. Does your hutch come too! It's gorgeous :) We have posted our Valentines Day and linked to your giveaway! Hope you have a lovely day! Jenn and Jacqui

How do you use the zip file? I saved it but do not know how to get the letter to print.
Help, please.

Teresa:

Happy Valentine's Day, Angela. I hope you have a wonderful day today. The pictures of your hutch are great. Thanks for sharing your project with us. ~Adrienne~

Wonderful hutch! Looks terrific!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

xo,
Kim

I just love that hutch. I loved it when you showed it to us new and I love the distressed look you've given it and I *really* love that it's in your living room now! I am just all about the love today - it is Valentine's Day after all.

I have been scouring Craigslist, yardsales and thrift stores for my own inexpensive hutch and haven't been lucky like you were yet. I love the fabulous finds from thrifting but sometimes I am just not very patient.

Beautiful! I always have a stack of 3 quilts in my armoire. I have a quilt collection and showcase in the armoire quilts that are in colors that match the room and the season. How nice to see quilts in a china hutch with glass doors!

Wow! Thanks for sharing!!
