Signs of Spring

Peach Primroses

It's official! Spring is in the air here in the Pacific Northwest! The daffodils are blooming. The primroses are fluffy. But the most telling? The rain has changed from winter's misty grey drizzle to the powerful Spring deluge. I love listening to it, especially now that it's just (barely) warm enough to open the windows in the afternoon.

I'm always excited this time of year, waiting for those summer gardens. I love Spring. I love Fall, too. I don't know if I could choose one over the other. And I'm partial to Summer as well, though I could live without the dog days of July and August. When winter comes, I'm usually well finished with sunshine and looking forward to the holidays, cozy fires and cocoa. So I guess I love them all. I don't think I could pick just one.

But at the moment, I'm really excited about Spring!

What about you? Do you have a favorite season?

~Angela :-)

Oh yeah. Spring has sprung all over in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I love spring and summer the very best. Renewal, beautiful green buds full of promise. LOVE IT!!!
How ya been?

Spring is hands down, my favorite. I must have flowers and after the dreadful Michigan winter months of January and February, March is my glimmering hope of green. Autumn is lovley but the beauty of it is short lived. Summer is wonderful but, like you I dont like the very hot days. Spring is perfection, with the rain and the new buds. It makes me happy all the time:>)

Summer is my faorite because I like to be out in the heat with my hands in the dirt and the sun on my back..but spring is my second. I love the new life coming up all around...We aren't quite there yet, but almost!

Oh, and I had to add the other reason I love Summer GARAGE SALES GALORE>>>>>>

Fall, I just love the colors and the coziness of it. Of course it is bittersweet (I adore the bittersweet vine BTW) because it means winter is on its way.

Janet

Totally agree about Fall and Spring--my favorite too! I think a month of summer for BBQs, swimming, and 4th of July should do. And about a month of winter to look pretty in Christmas photos is enough too---and then immediately back to spring and fall :)!

very jealous that you've already got blooming flowers. Mine are still 2-3 weeks away. But we DO have the rain too. Nice replacement for the snow!

Spring would probably be my favorite if I didn't live in the furnace. But after a long, blazing summer, fall is by far my favorite season.

Jill:

I love Spring but Fall is my favourite. Who can resist the sound of crunching leaves, the crispness in the air and the promise of new beginnings as so many head "back to school"?

Jill:

I feel exactly like you do about each season, but I think Autumn has a slight edge over the others!

Yep, spring is here in all her capriciousness. I both love and dislike it. I love it for the hope of warmth and the promise of new life. I don't like the cold wind and temperatures that fluctuate from lovely sunshine to bitter cold at the slightest provocation!

I guess summer is my favourite season. I love the heat, the gorgeous flowers, the foods so fresh and bountiful.

Or maybe autumn - that crisp air, the blue blue bowl of sky above, pulling out sweaters, cozy nights and warm days.

But then again...winter has its charms...sparkling snow, crackling fires, hot chocolate and CHRISTMAS!

Oh dear, it's so hard to choose. I love them all - just like you.

I love spring...and I´m longing sooo...for the light...the warmth...and the flowers! I´ve just put up a post about it... :)
Today I have heard the birds singing outside my window... :)

Hi! Am a spring lover, too, plus it is my birthday season! Love the flower pic, you are bringing it right to us!

I love both Spring and Fall. I think because they are both so moderate in weather, but offer the most beauty of the four seasons.

I can smell the flowers now!

I am soooo jealous that flowers are blooming and things are growing there. We are still working on melting the snow. I love spring and fall. The 2 best seasons. Linda

I can hardly wait. We're still covered in snow with more on the way...
Fall is my favorite Season, I love the colors of the leaves and the smell of Fall.

Fall is my favorite season also. Just love the colors and the smells. Spring around here is mostly a wet and grey affair.

Lisa:

I can't wait to see this kind of thing popping out of the ground here. We still have a wee bit of snow on the ground though. I'm so ready for it to disappear.

Have a great weekend!

Like you, I like all seasons. I think that life would be very boring if you had one season all year round. Have a great weekend!

Muum:

Those primroses are gorgeous!

I to love Spring but it doesn't seriously arrive at my house until May! I have to say I love the colors of the blooms in this post. Very nice indeed!

Oh, spring is definitely my fave, with fall a 2nd choice. Then Summer & Winter in that order. We are so fortunate to have such a short winter. After Christmas is over, we finally get some winter weather in January & Feburary & then...it's time for March & spring. We've had some beautiful 70* days already! Ahhhhh!

Hey Angela,

Just wanted to let you know that I recently posted some house stalking pictures from my neighborhood. I made my husband drive me around and got some great shots. Take a look if you get a chance.

My favorite season is still winter. But I have to admit that through gardening I have come to appreciate and love them all. Being in the PNW really helps because last summer was PERFECT in that it wasn't so hot, it was comfortable.

I've got that feeling of spring in my blood.

I love spring! Well, I love all of the seasons. I think near the end of each season I am ready for the next....
Hugs,
Penny

I am DYING for signs of spring... right now we have snow :( I am glad you have signs of spring - gives me hope!

Oh, I love the chandelier. I love fall and winter probably the most, but the excitement and freshness of spring really is inspirational. I wish I didn't just melt and die in hot weather and then I could love summer, too. I am just miserable when the temps get up in the 80's even... but yeah, this year I'm ready for a change of seasons.

what a beautiful photo :D Carm

I love all the seasons too. They are conveniently spaced so that by the time the next one comes, you are looking forward to it, don't you think?

I just found your blog and have been finding it very inspiring. Your pictures are great.

Have a great day!

Jennifer

Your gardens are all waking up, just as ours prepare to go to sleep. I will be excited to see how this new garden evolves for you Angela.

Oh yeah, spring has finally sprung here too. I'm off with a friend to a plant nursery this a.m. We can't grow primroses here, and to me, they seem almost magical. There was a great article on them by Sidney Eddison in Fine Gardening in Jan/Feb issue I think.

Your photo is fabulous and goes so well with your header.~~Dee

Cindi:

The "Fall!" The changing leaves, the crisp air and apples! Just enough chill in the air for my favorite sweaters. Cindi

Michele:

With the exception of major allergies, Spring is my absolute most favorite season!! I love all the gorgeous array of colorful flowers and the green lushness of everything. It's still cold where I live, but soon it will be warm. Can't wait! LOVE the picture of your flowers!!
