Office/Craft Room: It All Starts Here

Start of Salon Wall in Studio

Okay. So you all have hung in there with me, through thick and thin. You have seen my train wreck, and you have seen me say I was going to work on Baby Girl's room, the living room, the family room, my master bedroom and the dining room. (Okay, that one I did actually work on a little bit.)

Progress is being made, but not very much, you know?

Well. I think I finally figured out WHY!!!

It's my studio. You know, the room where I actually DO many of the projects that I want to do in order to finish these rooms. This is where I sew, where I paint small projects, where I build things. Sure, some of the heavy lifting happens in the garage, but this is the center of most of it.

And it hasn't been a pleasant place to work. In fact, just a couple of weeks ago, it looked like this:

Scary Mess of a Studio

(Shudder....)

It took two weeks, but I cleaned it up. I mean, really cleaned it. It's not perfect, and I still have a few last things. But it's, basically, clean!!

Not very sexy, I know, but this is where it begins, right? So here's how it looks now:

Clean Studio

Clean Studio

Clean Studio

Here's the cool part. Now that it's clean, I am motivated!!! I really feel like tackling the world! And I feel like starting here, in my studio.

Yes, it's clean. Clean is good. At least I can work.

But I want to be INSPIRED. I want to come in here and just be surrounded by gorgeousness and everything that makes my heart sing. You know?

I know you know.

So I'm going to gussy up my studio. And I know that I mean it this time, because, truly, this is the root of everything.

What a relief to be clear!!

~Angela :-)

Linden Townhouse:

What a wonderful studio you have. I hope it inspires you!

You go girl...and cut yourself some slack; you are a busy Mom and nothing trumps the Mom part :)

Prettying it up will make a big difference to your outlook! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Oh, girl, I know where you are comin' from! I'm in the same fix....and working on it. My daughter and I bought a house last fall and I have one of the bedrooms all to myself for my sewing/crafting! I'm 'borrowing' ideas from all over blogland, but it's slow goin'. Can't wait to see what you do...you've got a HUGE room it looks like! I'm subscribed to your blog, so I won't miss a thing!

Pats on the back to you, Angela, for taking the beast by the horns. I give you credit for posting the Before View, since many decor bloggers would not be willing to share that. I like to see a space that's really functional, the way yours is. It looks great, and I know how empowering clean and organized can be. Nice work.
