Well, I have started a blog. All this year I have been trying to write a book about home and garden and quilting and all the cottage things I love, and all along wondering if I’d ever be able to amass enough that any publisher would want to print it. A few weeks ago, my husband heard about blogging. People writing about their lives and sharing them online. And people are actually reading. Amazing.
I’ve been gravitating toward all the bronzey warm tones this year, and the golden dusky pinks. I don’t know why. I gathered everything from my collection that had that tone and it looked so pretty on the dining room table that I had to take a picture. I tried to take one with my little point-and-shoot and they were blurry and sad. So I decided to try my Mom’s old 35mm camera. I haven’t taken very good care of it, and it’s not taking very good pictures either, but at least they are in focus. I’ll have to figure that out as I go along, I suppose!
This year I was wishing I had clipped and dried some of my pretty purpley-bluey hydrangea blossoms so that I could put them on my tree. I don’t know where I got the idea — probably HGTV. I watch A LOT of home decor shows. I seem to remember one show (Country Style?) where they did a beach-themed tree with white hydrangeas all over it. They looked like snow, so pretty.
I hadn’t saved any of mine, so I ordered some on eBay. They’re not white — I don’t think you can get dried hydrangeas in white — but they are all in the bronzey, purplely, bluey tones that I am craving this year. And I have lots of white ornaments, so I can use those, too.
So, I’m glad to be here! I hope you’ll join with me as I go on this bloggy adventure.
