1930's Feedsack Reproduction Fabrics

30s Fabrics

I just had to show you my new 30's reproduction fabrics, and wow, what a difference daylight makes, huh? My work schedule changed recently, so I can take pictures during the daytime. Hopefully that will provide some better shots. But back to the fabric. Last Saturday I went to my very first quilting class (more on that soon), at Quilting Delights in Clackamas, and it turned out they had a huge sale going on. Apparently it was Superbowl Weekend. Who knew? Not me.

Naturally I couldn't pass up their deal on fat quarters (30 for $50), so I went in with a brand-new quilting friend and got 15 of the cutest 30's reproduction fabrics ever. Which is perfect, since I've decided to make my quilt for the class in a scrappy/repro style. If you look closely, you'll see that I accidentally got two of the same green print, sigh. You also may notice I was on a very pink kick. I just love those fabrics.

It's hard to pick favorites, but I did manage to. I just love this one. It really looks authentic to me. It's from the "Aunt Grace" line by Judie Rothermel and The Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum for Marcus Brothers Textiles.

My other favorite is this sweet rose print. It reminds me of vintage sheets. I may have to go back and get yardage of that one. I'd use the actual vintage sheets in my quilts, but the thread count is too high and causes problems with quilting. So repro fabrics like this are a life saver. It's called "Antique Rose" by Lake House Dry Goods.

I found you via MichelleSews (and also from Angelina's blog)... lovin' all your goodies and fabrics (especially the 30's). Seeing you mentioned Clackamas... I'm guessing you're in the "neighborhood" too (I'm in Astoria).

Hubby:

Hey wait a minute where was I when this purchase happened?
