Bold Modern Fabrics

I tried, I really did. I tried to stick to the blue-and-white scheme for my rail fence quilt (aka Some Things Are Meant To Be). It was supposed to be a cottagey, old-timey quilt with faded blues and whites. Very traditional.

I couldn't do it. It just needed some punch. Some zip. Something modern. Something fun. This quilt is supposed to be for the family room. Now, granted, I don't actually have a family room, but if I did, this quilt would go in it. I am planning to have a family room soon, one way or the other, even if I have to repurpose a bedroom. In the meantime, this quilt will live in one of the bedrooms

Anyway. I went fabric shopping today and found some awesome bits and pieces.

New Selection of Fabrics

I don't know if they'll all make it in, but some of them definitely will. The brown, orange and blue Hawaiian is a no-brainer. Also the dotty plain one. And let's not forget the big, colorful, dotted Kaffe Fasset.

Kaffe Fasset Fabric

Yum! I splurged and got extra, so this will be the backing of my quilt. Oh happy day!

So, now it's blue, white, brown and red. So much for traditional. Maybe next time.

Man, I love that fabric. :-)

Welcome!

Hi, my name is Angela, and I refuse to let my 50's ranch home (or budget) keep me from cottage style.
