It's Possible I've Misplaced My Better Judgement

Yellow Fabric Strip Sets

Last time we talked about my leaders and enders quilt, "Hello, Yellow," I said I was going to do a Half-Square Triangle (HST) quilt to join in on the Triangle Madness project over at Goddess in Progress Quilts. Of course, I was planning to follow her example and go with a nice, big 4" finished block. Because that would be sensible.

And we all know that I'm nothing if not sensible.

Hahahahahahahahahaha.

Okay, so I'm totally not. Which might be why I've finished so few quilts, but we'll save that discussion for another day.

The point of today is that I decided to do 2" finished blocks instead. So, instead of looking like this:

The quilt is going to look like this:

Hello Yellow HST Quilt New Layout

Great, huh?

Of course both my husband and my best friend seriously questioned by judgement (rightly so), so to be absolutely sure, I made up a couple of samples. That's some of the 4" (finished) units on the left, and the 2" on the right:

I think I'm gonna love this quilt.

And with all this scrummy yellow fabric, who wouldn't, I ask you? Who?

Seriously.

What about you? Do you have good quilting judgement?

Best,

~Angela :-)

I love the look of the smaller size...wish I could get me room in order so I could sew...

Hi - I stumbled onto your site while searching for craft room organization. My friend and I are trying to organize her space. Mine of course, is perfect. Hahahaha! Thanks for sharing your photos and projects. I'm inspired. Linda

Rocio:

I like the cottage style too. It is a style that is homey, dreamy, and practical. Your site inspires me and I just love your color mixes. I don't write often but, your 2" square triangle for "Hello, Yellow" are the just adorable. I can't wait to see the quilt in progress.

Katy:

You're funny! And, no, I don't have good quilt judgement, especially when it comes to buying fabric. I sought our your site because of your wonderful pillow instructions. I have some gorgeous Egyptian fabric that I'm both too afraid to cut into and feel it's too pretty to cut! So I keep piling up fabric, and...sigh...you know the story.

Thanks for the wonderful site.
