So you know I’ve hopped on the UFO Challenge going on at Patchwork Times. I’m excited about it. But I wasn’t going to do the other challenge Judy has running, the monochromatic challenge. I mean, how many quilts do I think I can make around here, right?
But then she picked yellow.
I love yellow. And it’s possible that I have a wee bit of a problem with fabric in the, you know, yellow category. See, a couple of autumns ago I found this great yellow print at a basement sale and I thought it would make a great duvet (on sale!). I was feeling very fashionable and mustard yellow was it that autumn (and on sale!). At least in my mind. Real life, who knows (but on sale!).
But I digress. Stalling, really.
See, I have this:

Yeah. That’s a lot of fabric.
Fabric I have no earthly use for. See, turns out I don’t like yellow duvets in my bedroom (who knew?). I love yellow, but that that yellow, not there.
But, darn it, I am going to use that fabric.
So. Really, I had to join the monochromatic challenge this month, right?
When I saw the Triangle Madness quilt-along over at Goddess In Progress Quilts, I knew I had my quilt. I am not necessarily going to get it done in January, and I don’t know that I’ll do all the monochromatic quilts. But I will do this one, and I’ll do it as a leaders-and-enders project. A simple quilt all of half-square triangles, designed to bust my stash:

Of course, I couldn’t help but throw in some more yellows from my stash:

I’ll use up as much of the yellow behemoth as I can, though. I have some tricky ideas for the back.
What about you? Do you love yellow?
Best,

That is a lot of fun yellow! I am currently building a yellow stash, and orange as well, to have a yellow/orange quilt. It is fun to see what yellows I suddenly need in my collection!
