chain piecing

C

Chain piecing is when several items of patchwork are put through the sewing machine one after another, leaving only a few stitches gap between each item. This is done to speed the patchwork process and also can make certain types of piecing easier, such as when piecing very small pieces or sewing onto triangle points. When chain piecing, the beginning and ending usually include a thread saver or leader-ender.

Angela Grace

Angela Grace’s first quilt was started when she was 18, given away unfinished when she was 22, gotten back when she was 34 and finished when she was 39. Now that Angela makes quilts in significantly less time, she’s on a mission to make quilting simple so that new quilters can be creative. When she is not hanging out on the internet you can find her quilting, gardening, reading, or, most frequently, daydreaming.
